»Overview

Welcome to the Adult Faith Formation information pages. Our purpose is to encourage active interest and participation in learning more about the faith, teachings, practices and beliefs of the Catholic Church.
In most cases, the significant spiritual and faith-related challenges and questions occur during adulthood, not in childhood or adolescence. To meet these challenges, Ascension parish provides opportunities for the ongoing spiritual development of its adult members (18 years of age and older).
The Church of the Ascension provides many avenues for all to learn and experience their Faith in a deep and profound way. An AFF Team of fellow parishioners, led by a staff person, is responsible for identifying adult faith needs, planning and implementing "programs" that most need those needs. A partial list of such programs includes:

Bible Study Groups

Small Faith Sharing Communities

Seminars, Retreats and Missions

Prayer Groups

Adult Faith Library

Communication about such programs is provided in the monthly newsletter, The Ascent, in the weekly bulletin and on the parish web site.
Above all we encourage each other to attend The Liturgy of the Mass and partake of the Sacraments. Only with a genuine understanding of our Faith do we hope to bear witness to Christ in thought, word and deed.
For more information or if you would be interested in serving in this ministry, contact the Adult Faith Formation office.
