St. Mary's Food Kitchen
Parishioners of Holy Spirit and Ascension serve a hot meal to about 350 people on the second Friday of each month. Volunteers can participate by serving as a caller, preparing the food or serving the food at the old St. Mary's Church in Kansas City, KS. Volunteers are always needed.

Food Collections
The goal is to collect food the first weekend of each month at Mass for delivery to Catholic Charities for distribution. Parishioners are needed to donate and help deliver food to CC.There are additional food collections throughout the year as the needs arise. The children are also encouraged to bring a canned good during the offertory for our Sunday Masses. For more information contact Joe and Johnette Martin 481-8663.

Hope Faith
We prepare and serve breakfast to the homeless at HopeFaith on the last Saturday of the month. Help is needed with providing food, papergoods, and with serving.  Time commitment is minimal, there is a rotation of people to serve. We have sign up sheets on line that are sent to committee every month. Contact with agency as needed.  For more information contact James Carley 685-3679.

IHN (Interfaith Hospitality Network)
This ministry provides shelter to homeless people or families in different churches around Johnson County. While Ascension does not host the families, we take two evenings and nights every quarter and provide supervision through the evening until morning along with providing meals, snacks and transportation.  Training required to provide supervision, but help needed with providing meals and snacks.  For more information contact Dorothy Long 681-1289.

City Union Mission
We cook and serve the homeless in this shelter, dinner several times a year.
